Firstly to make things clear. I DID vote on Sunday. Before that it was true that i didnt want to vote, just because i dont like any of the two names. later sb. told me that i had to vote for one of them and then i said syndicnews. The vote resulted a draw between the two options i think.
Good about Syndic news:
-- it has 'news' in it and thus make it easier for our audience to grasp at first glance what this website is about;
bad thing about syndic news:
-- it sounds more like business;
-- it should be a website with loads of articles covering all aspects of journalism, in other words, a real "sydicate", but , to be honest, we are not. maybe we are trying to make it come true in the near future.
As to globespeak, i just dont like it because it sounds serious to me. some of you guys think it is not serious -- maybe it is because of our different cultural background.
It was great that we had some new names popped up the other day -- a good result of the brainstorming. I like newsblend and newsnote better. The only thing that I am afraid of newsnote is that maybe it is too small. people will not take us seriously. as to newsblend, i cant find anything bad about it. we, people from different cultures, are doing news in different forms, covering different fields. it is a blend. this word is also easy to remember and maybe also trendy for young people.
We should let David know about our concerns about the name and his experience may shed some light on our thoughts.
